● GLAMDY’s Commitments ●
1. GLAMDY is committed to “domestic production.”
All manufacturing processes for our products take place in Japan, such as dyeing in Kyoto, sewing denim fabrics in Okayama, and embroidering in Gifu, Japan.
This is because…
In Japan, we have craftsmen skilled in world-class techniques and
towns that have passed down their culture and their techniques.
GLAMDY would like to…
cherish the craftsmanship and techniques of these masters whose work rivals any in the world.
That is why…
GLAMDY is committed to products “Made in Japan.”
2. GLAMDY is committed to “fabrics.”
Let’s talk about fabrics before printing.
For instance, Oxford fabric is the fabric GLAMDY uses for pants.

However, this fabric is not available in the market.
What is the difference?
Compared with the Oxford fabrics that are distributed in the market and mass-produced, the Oxford fabrics that we use are characterized by the use of additional weft threads.
This method improves fabric strength and produces products that keep their shape after repeated washing.
Therefore GLAMDY’s Oxford denim fabrics will not lose their shape in the knee area and will keep a beautiful hipline for years to come.
GLAMDY’s pants fit your body gradually. This is the secret reason why so many people love GLAMDY’s pants.
● About Printing ●
Next, let’s talk about how our products are printed.
First, we draw pictures of the design. Based on the pictures, we create printing blocks for fabric dyeing. Then we select the colors for dyeing.

After selecting the colors, craftsmen at the dyeworks create the printing blocks as designed and print various kinds of patterns on fabrics, such as crepe, Oxford, etc.
When dyeing fabrics, GLAMDY has adopted a dyeing technique called “Te-nasen.”
--- What is Te-nasen? ---
This is a dyeing method performed by placing a large printing block on fabric fixed on a printing table and having a craftsman print the fabric manually color by color.

Approximately ten colors are used on GLAMDY’s fabrics. This means that one sheet of fabric requires at least ten colorings before the printing is finished. Please remember, this process is only for one printing block. In order to print one complete roll of fabric, the printing processes must be performed approximately 200 times.
Using this complex method of dyeing, GLAMDY’s original printed fabrics can provide deep colors.
● About Sewing ●
Next, let us talk about the sewing of our products. Our denim fabric products are sewed in Okayama, Japan.
Why sewing in Okayama?
Indigo dyed ikat (one of the fabrics used for Japanese kimono) was manufactured extensively in Okayama during the Meiji Period (1868-1912) and thereafter; however, due to a sharp decrease in the demand for kimonos, Okayama has changed into an integrated manufacturing place for denim fabrics using their traditional indigo dyeing techniques.
Today, Okayama exports its denim fabrics all over the world. Okayama has its history and concentrated technologies. That is why GLAMDY is committed to Okayama.

● Manufacturing Processes for Denim Products ●
The fabrics dyed in Kyoto are transported to Okayama by road.
In Okayama, the fabrics are cut into several pieces.

This is how GLAMDY’s products are hand-made by craftsmen.
● Features of GLAMDY’s Fabrics ●
- GLAMDY’s Crepes -

Since shrinkage percentages are different between gilded and non-gilded parts, when the fabric is washed, it has a unique appearance of solidity.
In order to use the texture in our products, we wash the fabric before sewing and create it with a unique texture of solidity.
--- Opal Printing ---

Opal Printing is a process for creating sheer textures by printing various patterns with chemicals on a fabric woven with two kinds of fibers and then dissolving one of the fibers.
If the same patterns used in the abovementioned crepes are printed using this method, this is how they will look.
- Features -
The first feature is its transparent texture.
This special process will create transparent textures in fabrics that will attract the eye.
GLAMDY continues to develop this innovative Opal Printing series with Japanese traditional patterns.
Dyeing is very fragile work. It is so sensitive that the end product can vary due to subtle changes, such as weather, humidity, etc., as well as the techniques of craftsmen.
GLAMDY’s Japanese traditional patterns are dyed manually by skilful craftsmen in Kyoto.
Fabrics that are hand-made with the great care of craftsmen…
No two of these fabrics are the same. Each one is unique.
GLAMDY does its utmost to create the best products and works hard to achieve the best GLAMDY quality.
